The Canadian Season Problem

A Short Season. A Long Edit Backlog.

Canada’s outdoor wedding season is compressed into the warm months, roughly June to early October, with summer Saturdays booked first. Many Canadian videographers shoot most of their year in under five months, then edit through the winter.

Five Months of Weddings

When most weddings fall between June and October, every weekend counts. At 30–50 hours of post per film, a busy summer can add hundreds of hours to your queue.

Winter Is When Couples Book

Couples plan the following summer during the winter months. If you are still editing last season, you have less time for consultations and marketing.

Couples Expect a Premium Film

Bridebook’s Canadian guide puts typical videography spend at CA$1,500–2,500, and CA$2,500–5,000 for experienced filmmakers. Your film has to justify that price.

Plan Your Post-Production Around How Canada Marries

Canada stopped publishing national marriage counts in 2008, so we plan with industry pricing data and our own client calendars from Ontario, BC, Alberta and Quebec.

Peak Months

June to early October for outdoor weddings, with Saturdays booked first. Fall-colour weddings in late September and early October are especially popular in Ontario and Quebec.

Winter Weddings

Mountain destinations like Banff and Whistler see a second, smaller season of snowy winter weddings and elopements.

What Couples Spend

CA$1,500–2,500 is typical for a videographer, rising to CA$2,500–5,000 for experienced studios (Bridebook Canada).

Six Time Zones

From Newfoundland to BC, our team is roughly 9½ to 13½ hours ahead, so most of our editing happens overnight for you.

Why Choose Us

Why Canadian Videographers Choose Our Wedding Editing Service

Six reasons Canadian wedding filmmakers keep sending us their weddings.

Editing Overnight, Coast to Coast

Upload after dinner in Toronto or Vancouver and your editor starts on it while you sleep. Feedback is usually waiting the next morning.

English and French Ceremonies

We cut bilingual ceremonies and speeches for Quebec and Ottawa weddings, keeping both languages where they matter and adding subtitles if you need them.

Graded for Canadian Landscapes

Rocky Mountain lakes, Muskoka cottages, Niagara vineyards, Montreal lofts and snowy Banff elopements. Send your reference film and LUT and we grade to it.

Built for a Compressed Season

Tell us your summer bookings in spring and we reserve editor time, so June to October weddings move through post without a winter backlog.

Flat USD Pricing

$280 for a Feature Film, $350 for a Highlight Film, $520 for both. Flat rates with no hourly billing, invoiced in USD.

Risk-Free First Edit

Send a real recent wedding. We deliver the first cut. If it doesn’t meet your standard, you don’t pay. No contract, no deposit.

Process

From Summer Weekend to Delivered Film

Four steps built around Canadian time zones, with editing happening overnight on your clock.

STEP 01
Upload After the Weekend

Send footage via Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer with your reference film, LUT and notes on language and speeches. Sunday-night uploads are picked up first thing.

STEP 02
First Cut in 10–15 Working Days

Within two to three working weeks your editor shares a first cut, which you review in Frame.io, Vimeo or a private YouTube link, whichever your studio uses.

STEP 03
Overnight Revisions

Leave timestamped notes before bed and changes are usually ready in the morning. Unlimited rounds with the same editor.

STEP 04
Deliver Before the Leaves Fall

Final master in your spec, project files on request, so summer couples get their film while the wedding is still fresh.
